Remembering Anne Perry
Celebrate a Life Well Lived
Anne Pennington Perry
November 30, 1936 - March 5, 2026
Anne Perry, former Eagle Forum of Georgia President, passed away on March 5, 2026. She was a long time resident of DeKalb County, Georgia.
Friend and fellow Eagle Forum member, Carolyn Garcia, shared memories their long time relationship. Carolyn recalled that she had met Anne sometime in the 1990s through politics and lobbying conservative issues at the Georgia Capitol.
“One of the first things that struck me about Anne was her calm, gentle voice that made you feel at ease. She was someone you could sit down with and have a open discussion on any subject,” remarked Carolyn. “but I quickly learned that one should not take her gentle demeanor and soft voice as weakness. She was strong in her beliefs for life, protecting children and many other issues. She didn’t back down from standing for what is right. Anne was strong in her faith and that was her guiding compass.”
“Anne had a special way of reaching people, maybe it was because of her kind sweet voice. I always found her to be a listener as well. She never tried to jump into our conversations to stop me, but patiently waited to give her opinion or point out where she agreed or disagreed with you on an issue. I cannot remember a time personally, where we disagreed,” reminisced Carolyn.
“I only have fond memories of her and how she always treated me with such respect and kindness. I will always remember her beautiful smile and loving soft voice. A true, Southern lady.” - Carolyn Garcia
